The impressive, Dr Sarah Jane McEwan, will deliver the clinical module on women’s health at the Gathering for Continuing Education in Sri Lanka from 23-28 April 2018.
Dr McEwan is a Wiradjuri woman, and graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine in 2004 from the University of Newcastle. In 2009 she was named National Rural Faculty Registrar of the Year by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and in 2010 was honoured as Remote Medicine Registrar of the Year by the the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine.
She has since completed an Advanced Diploma through the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology DRANZCOG, a Diploma of Clinical Education and is currently two thirds of the way through a Masters of Health Administration.
Dr McEwan’s topics of interest and expertise include sexual health, family planning, obstetrics, gynaecology, sexual assault management, severe trauma, neonatal resuscitation and foetal monitoring.
Dr McEwan is based at the Port Hedland Hospital in WA as the district medical officer in obstetrics, gynaecology and emergency.
